A Guide to WoW Classic DMF Buffs

The Darkmoon Faire is a location in World of Warcraft Classic that can grant you some nifty buffs. Since they’re world buffs, you can use your Chronoboon Displacer to store them for later use if you don’t have the time to return to get them. The buffs from Darkmoon Faire are primarily used for raiding, but it’s possible to pick them up as you clear a dungeon or level up since they provide additional stats.

Besides these buffs, the Darkmoon Faire offers vendors, games, prizes, and rewards—including some of the best BiS (best-in-slot) items if you’re determined to invest the time and effort. However, this time around, we’re focusing on the Fortune Teller Sayge, who grants two-hour buffs.

Where to Find the WoW Classic DMF Buff

Sayge is an NPC located in one of the Darkmoon Faire tents near the edge. The exact location is in Elwynn Forest. The coordinates are 36.8, 38.2 for the Horde and 42.0, 69.0 for the Alliance faction. You know you’ve found Sayge when you see a hooded gnoll NPC outside the multi-colored tent.

The Darkmoon Faire is on the Darkmoon Island. You can opt to teleport to Darkmoon Island when the Faire is open. The 2024 schedule for the Darkmoon Faire in Classic is as follows:

Note that the schedule is different for Season of Discovery, where there will be an increased cadence of the Darkmoon Faire visiting Mulgore and Elwynn Forest.

How to Get Darkmoon Faire Buffs

Head to the Darkmoon Faire and find Sayge, who looks like a fortune teller. Upon speaking to him, he’ll ask you a series of questions. How you answer these questions determines the type of buff you receive.

Here are all the answers you need to give Sayge to gain certain buffs:

Sayge’s Dark Fortune of Spirit

• Answer 1: Turn him over to the liege (2)
• Answer 2: Confront the diplomat (1)

Sayge’s Dark Fortune of Stamina

• Answer 1:Confiscate the corn (3)
• Answer 2: Speak against your brother openly (1)

Sayge’s Dark Fortune of Agility

• Answer 1: Confiscate the corn (3)
• Answer 2: Keep your brother out without letting him know (3)

Sayge’s Dark Fortune of Intelligence

• Answer 1: Turn him over to the liege (2)
• Answer 2: Show not-so-quiet defiance (2)

How to Get the Darkmoon Faire Buff Classic With Rides

Once you enter the Faire, head a few dozen yards to the right to find the Darkmoon Rollercoaster and Darkmoon Carousel. Riding one of these for 30 seconds will give you the WHEE! Buff. This buff gives you a 10% increase in your experience and reputation gains for an hour. Remember that should you die within that hour, the buffs won’t persist. At the very least, WHEE! stacks with other reputation and EXP buffs.

To ride the Darkmoon Carousel and Darkmoon Rollercoaster, you’ll need a Darkmoon Ride Ticket. You can get this by interacting with the Ride Ticket Book, which you can buy from the NPC near the Darkmoon Faire’s entrance. There are also items you can exchange for the tickets. Some items worth highlighting are the Darkmoon Storage Box, Orb of the Darkmoon, and Amulet of the Darkmoon.

If rides aren’t your thing, you can obtain a similar buff by consuming a Darkmoon Top Hat. To buy the hat, talk to Gelvas Grimgate and purchase it for 10 Darkmoon Ride Tickets.
